Abstract

This text is a modest approach and contribution to the issue of regulation of the nt and its products, starting with a review of different arguments as to why it is necessary to have normative instruments and a brief explanation of the different ways in which this can happen (compulsory, voluntary, horizontal, vertical, local, national, international). Subsequently, a tight account is made of two of the main regulatory frameworks in this area, that of the European Community and that of the United States of America (USA). Finally, mention is also made of the efforts reach in Mexico in this area.
