Videos animados “La ciencia de los volcanes”

Abstract

The series “La ciencia de los volcanes”, composed of four animated videos, explains in a simple and visual way complex volcanic
phenomena such as: the causes of volcanic eruptions, magma fragmentation process, the relationship between volcanic eruptions
and the weather, and how volcanologists can determine the age of an eruption. These videos were designed with the stop motion animation style, which uses a photograph sequence that is played at high speed to give the sensation of movement. The videos were created for an audience with a wide age range, from children over 10 to adults of all ages, besides that they can be used by primary, secondary and bachelor teachers (for those careers related to Earth Sciences) to complement their classes. These videos were posted on a sharing video channel (You Tube©) for easy access.
